Stop Smoking Programs

There are a hundred and one stop smoking programs or more, how ever those are for millions and millions of smokers. The strange thing is that for some out of this world reason none of these mysterious stop smoking programs works.  It's not a mystery however, the reality is that stop smoking programs aren't the answer. As a former smoker, who quit three years ago, I had tried many stop smoking plans, as well as reducing the number of smokes each day, and nicotine gum. I attempted smoking lighter and lighter cigarettes, yet none of these led me to quitting. Why? Because stop smoking programs are not the answer.

Now don't fear, I'm not about to pitch the latest and greatest new program to stop smoking. I don't have any new gimmick or idea to sell. The reality is there is only one real way to stop smoking, know what it is? JUST STOP, that's it. No stop smoking programs, rules, incentive plans, smoking just with friends or on Fridays will work. No matter what stop smoking programs tell you, the toughest part about stopping smoking is the changing of your social behavior and day to day habits. Of course it's wonderful to have a smoke with friends, or be able to jump outside on break and enjoy a cigarette. You need to be firm with yourself, and stand up, don't give an inch. The successful stop smoking program is to affirm with yourself that you will no longer smoke.

While it might seem like a great idea, try not to be to ambitious at one time. Sometimes people will decide to change everything in their life at once. Stop smoking, begin a new exercise routine, a new diet etc. This isn't the best idea to help you quit smoking. The ideal way is to let yourself go a little in other ways, concentrate your efforts and rules around stop smoking programs. So you might put on a few pounds you can lose, or eat a little junk food.  Maybe the exercise routine slips a bit, it's OK if you have too many rules for your life at once there is a good chance you're going to lose them all. Now remember, stop smoking programs do work for some individuals, generally this is because they offer a support group, the key point is to remember the real stop smoking program is your decision to do it, and stop once and for all. So why not choose today to be your day to stop smoking.
